Thanks for posting this… I am Stage 2 and found this very useful…
i hear ya. I am on the stage 5..i recently got my fistula done on my left wrist and once this is heal (takes up to 6 weeks) once is healed then i will start Dialysis 3x a week for 4 hours. scared? I am pretty much but looking foward to it because i know i will feel much better though the thing i complain the most is the food diet. It sucks! no salt in my foods and no pizza (i love cheese) not having it makes me sad
Have you been given the option of PD (peritoneal dialysis)?
I have been on that for over a year now, I don’t think I could face haemo, I’m not good with needles and blood and things. Also I don’t have to restrict my diet very much, it’s well worth looking into, trust me! Good luck x
to “staraction”
I’ve been on hemo dialysis 2x and I’m on my second kidney transplant. I am susceptible to infections so both times I chose hemo. I understand the diet sucks! Just try like the dickens to NOT think about what you can’t have. It really does no service to all you have to contend with. Just think how bad the diet would be if you were diabetic? Anyway find things to make you laugh as often as you can! Very Very important!
hmmmm stay over night in hospital. Wen i was diagnosed i was in for three weeks. Altho i had a eGFR of 10. I have been on dialysis for two years almost and i hate every minute of it but who likes it?
no its not cancer
oh my dear friend have this..i wish i can do something to make her well…i only encourage her..and i always keep sending her inspirational quotes.:)
it not a cancer
I was Stage 3/4 when I found out I had kidney disease. It took 3 years to reach Stage 5. I then went on APD for 2 1/2 years, then switched to haemo for 2 years. I had a transplant in June. I have had the best of both worlds in terms of dialysis.

I’m a 15 year old sophmore, who already has a hugely long list of medical problems, including depression and athsma. I just got diagnosed with kidney disease. I’m so scared.
Im a 16 yrs. old teenager from the Philippines…. I have CKD or chronic kidney disease secondary to CGN or chronic Glomerulonephritis…… Im taking a treatment called Hemo dialysis..its been 6 months now in November 26 2011…its so hard but you have to use to it…Im taking hemo dialysis 2 times a week every wednesday and Saturday…And its hard to dialysis here in Philippines because you have to own moneys to take a session which we don’t have coz’ we are one of the Filipino’s poor people
It saddens me to hear that so many of you struggle with CKD. My heart goes out to you, sincerely. Try to stay optimistic. Remember, research is ongoing and doctors are constantly looking for better treatments and cures. They are studying to learn new things about the renal system all the time. A major breakthrough could be just around the corner. Hang in there, you guys!
what is Cronic Assodoses
I was diagnosed with stage 1 CKD before christmas. I have a history of renal reflux and had a bilateral ureter reimplantation at the age of 9, I then had a nephrectomy at 16. I’m 21 at the moment, the doctor says its only mild and that I shouldn’t be to worried any advice on keeping in stage 1?
