“”vegan diet was better than the ADA diet… cut-out ALL refined/processed
carbs/sugars.”" This is absolutely correct, confirmed by own experience. I
eat Low Carb/Ketogenic and I simply can’t gain any weight eating even
staggering amounts of coconut oil, olive oil, butter and fruits together
with classic vegetables. No refined carbs - no weight gain, no matter how
much of a glutton you are. “”ketogenic high-fat/low-carb vegan diet”" Only
few vegans know that a such thing even exists.
I am 12 days into my journey to reverse my type 2 diabetes and I am doing a
video diary every couple of days of what I am experiencing and what effects
it is having on my type 2 diabetes. Anyone wanting info or thinking if this
will work for them, subscribe to my channel and watch. Thanks Dr Barnard
for getting me started!
I wonder if the lifestyle I’ve been following would help diabetes? For
five years I’ve been living almost entirely on skim cow’s milk, in my case
it has been good for my eye discomfort, but for the same reasons it helped
me I think it might help other diseases. See my vid, “Fight every disease
by living solely on milk permanently?”
I eat oatmeal and it spikes my blood sugar to no end. I eat eggs, fish and
broccoli spinach, I get very little increase of blood sugar. If I eat fruit
it raises blood sugar. Vegetables do not raise blood sugar. I also eat nuts
too. I do not agree with this guy on these points. I eat no processed
food, no flour based items, no sugar, no starch. I lost 50 pounds and have
my diabetes under control. I exercise every day. I think it is keep total
calories under control and exercise. I eat more 30% protein and 20% fat to
avoid sugar spike and get my 50% calorie carbohydrates through fresh fiber
rich green vegetables.
He is fantastic!
I guess it’s kind of easy to resolve. Do the diet for 6 months and see if
it works or not. Forget studies. Make up your own mind based on results.
Glad to see a doctor that does not recommend office visits every few
minutes.
